DETAILS: A womens’ arm-wrestling competition in collaboration with the Maine Beer Mavens and the Superhero Lady Arm wrestlers of Portland. Includes food and beer specials, and a live DJ.

• SWEATER WEATHER FERMENTATION

WHEN: 4 to 7 p.m.

WHERE: The Thirsty Pig, 37 Exchange St., Portland

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go

DETAILS: A night featuring dark beers and ciders, alongside Rock Lobster hot sauce tasting.

• LAGUNITAS/MAINE BEER CO. TASTING

WHEN: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

WHERE: Bier Cellar, 299 Forest Ave., Portland

HOW MUCH: Free

DETAILS: Join the Bier Cellar and The Craft Beer Guild of Maine for a tasting and education on some West Coast favorites.

• MARSHALL WHARF BEER DINNER

WHEN: 6 p.m.

WHERE: East Ender, 47 Middle St., Portland

HOW MUCH: $65; Call 879-7669 to reserve

DETAILS: Featuring six Marshall Wharf Drafts paired with a five-course course menu.

• KOMBUCHA FERMENTATION DEMONSTRATION AND CONVERSATION

WHEN: 5 to 8 p.m.

WHERE: Urban Farm Fermentory, 200 Anderson St., Portland

HOW MUCH: Free

DETAILS: Join master kombucha brewer Reid Emmerich as he demonstrates the home brewing of kombucha. Feel free to bring and share any homebrewed kombucha you would like feed back on. Kombucha starter kits available.

• MAINE BEER TOURS NEW BUS THANK-YOU PARTY

WHEN: 4 to 7 p.m.

WHERE: Andy’s Old Port Pub, 94 Commercial St., Portland

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go specials on Maine beers; free snacks and giveaways from breweries

DETAILS: Maine Beer Tours finally has its new bus on the road, and they want to thank everyone who has helped along the way.

• HOP NIGHT

WHEN: Restaurant opens at 5:30 p.m.

WHERE: Local 188, 685 Congress St., Portland

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go

DETAILS: All things hoppy.

NOV. 8

• THE MAINE BEER MAVENS FIRST ANNIVERSARY PARTY

WHEN: 6 p.m.

WHERE: Rising Tide, 103 Fox St., Portland

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go

DETAILS: Maven-brewed beer and cheese pairing curated by Ruth Miller.

• GREAT LOST BEAR MAINE-BREWED SEASONALS

WHEN: Restaurant is open 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

WHERE: Great Lost Bear, 540 Forest Ave., Portland

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go

DETAILS: Serving Baxter Hayride Autumn Ale, Geary’s Autumn Ale, Peak Fall Summit Ale, Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale and perhaps some winter seasonals, if they are available.

• THE MAINE BREW BUS LOCAL POUR TOUR

WHEN: 12:30 to 5 p.m.

WHERE: Pick up and drop off at The Thirsty Pig, 37 Exchange St., Portland

HOW MUCH: $60; go to themainebrewbus.com/tours.

DETAILS: Find out what libations Portland has to offer on The Local Pour Tour. Start with a sausage and beer pairing at the Thirsty Pig and then enjoy stops at Maine Mead Works, Bunker Brewing Co., Urban Farm Fermentory and Maine Craft Distilling.

• IN’FINITY PARTY

WHEN: Venue opens at 3 p.m.

WHERE: Novare Res Bier Cafe, 4 Canal Plaza, Portland

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go

DETAILS: Beer tasting.

• BROTHERS IN BREWING

WHEN: 6 p.m.

WHERE: The Thirsty Pig, 37 Exchange St., Portland

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go

DETAILS: A beer tasting featuring beers brewed by brothers

• SEBAGO 1,000 BREW

WHEN: 6 p.m.

WHERE: Sebago Brew Pub, 211 Fore St., Portland

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go

DETAILS: The quad released at this party will be called “M,” as in 1,000. It will come along with a pairing menu.

 • FALL BEER NIGHT

WHEN: Restaurant opens at 7:30 a.m.

WHERE: Taco Escobarr, 548 Congress St., Portland

HOW MUCH: $3/beer

DETAILS: Pouring Gritty’s Halloween, Spaten Octoberfest, Peak Fall, Atlantic Brewing all on draught all day for $3. Tacos $2 on special.
