• EVOLUTION OF THE CAN

WHEN: Noon

WHERE: The Thirsty Pig, 37 Exchange St., Portland

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go.

DETAILS: A selection of marketing breakthroughs of canned beer. Details and stories from the breweries behind the innovations.

• THE ZYMURGY HOME BREW TOUR

WHEN: 4 to 8 p.m.

WHERE: Pick up and drop off at the Great Lost Bear, 540 Commercial St., Portland

HOW MUCH: $30; to reserve a spot, call 200-9111.

DETAILS: Hop on the bus for a tour of the home brew underground. Here is your chance to meet some of the up and coming brewers, pick their brains and see their set ups.

• MAINE BEER, CHOCOLATE AND MUSIC NIGHT

WHEN: 7 p.m. Phantom Punch and chocolate pairing, sponsored by Baxter Brewing Co. and Black Dinah Chocolates; at 8 p.m., Kurt Baker Band and guests

WHERE: Port City Music Hall, 504 Congress St., Portland

HOW MUCH: $10; ticket price includes a pint of Phantom Punch and Black Dinah Chocolates while supplies last.

• REBEL IPA LAUNCH PARTY

WHEN: 5 p.m.

WHERE: Mesa Verde, 618 Congress St., Portland

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go

DETAILS: Be among the first to try the brand new West Coast-style IPA from Samuel Adams. Prizes, giveaways, food specials and more. 

• MAINE BEER TOURS

WHEN: 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

WHERE: Pick up and drop off in front of Portland Lobster Company, 180 Commercial St., Portland

HOW MUCH: $54; mainebeertours.com/tours.

DETAILS: Stops include Allagash Brewing Co., Rising Tide Brewing Co., Maine Mead Works and Bunker Brewing Co. 

• MAINE BEER TOURS

HOPPY HOUR TOUR

WHEN: 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.

WHERE: Pick up and drop off in front of Portland Lobster Company, 180 Commercial St.

HOW MUCH: $49

DETAILS: Stops include Rising Tide Brewing Co., Bunker Brewing Co., Shipyard Brewing Co. and Urban Farm Fermentory. 

NOV. 10

• ALLAGASH PRESENTS BEER DINNER AT BLACK BIRCH

WHEN: 5 p.m. arrival with dinner beginning at 5:30. Only a few seats left.

WHERE: Black Birch, 2 Government St., Kittery

HOW MUCH: $75

DETAILS: Beer dinner

• OXBOW/BUNKER SUNDAY FUNDAY

WHEN: Noon to 3 p.m.

WHERE: Sonny’s restaurant, 83 Exchange St., Portland

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go

DETAILS: Join the crews from Bunker and Oxbow for brunch on the final Sunday of Beer Week. Choice beers from both breweries will be on tap, and Sonny’s full brunch and cocktail menu will be available.

• MEXICAN BEER AND BRUNCH

WHEN: 9 a.m. to noon

WHERE: Taco Escobarr, 548 Congress St., Portland

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go

DETAILS: Sol, Dos Equis, and Pacifico, all $3.
