This week’s cookbook answers the question: “What happens if you bust out a tube of biscuit dough and throw it over the coals?”

Paula Deen’s sons have come out with a down-home cookbook that focuses on outdoor cooking and foods that are good for grilling, tailgating and picnicking. “The Deen Bros.: Get Fired Up” by Jamie and Bobby Deen with Melissa Clark (Ballantine Books, $25) is chock full of burgers, dogs, skewers, hot sammies and other fare that will make you the most popular tailgater at the big game.

There are lots of guy-friendly recipes, such as Vidalia Onion and Beer Dip, Grilled Stuffed Cornbread with Ham and Cheese and the Deens’ own version of the ubiquitous beer-can chicken.

You’ll also find a grilled Low Country Boil, New Orleans fare (NOLA-Style Dirty Rice Salad) and a Miami Cubano with ham, cheese and pickles.

If you know any Georgia Bulldogs fans (especially any who like to cook), this would be a great gift because of all the “Go Dawgs” references.

By the way, that biscuit dough? The Deen brothers grill it and turn it to flatbread.
