SIXPOINT BEER CARNIVAL

WHEN: 6:30 p.m.

WHERE: East Ender, 47 Middle St., Portland; 879-7669

HOW MUCH: $40

DETAILS: Chef Mitch Gerow presents a five-course meal with beer pairings from Brooklyn's Sixpoint Brewery. Election updates will be shown on the big screen. The carnival-themed meal will include these beer-food pairings:

Sweet Action – Hubbard squash tart, candied filberts, beer brined cheddar, fried sage.

Lil Buzz – House-made hot dog, pretzel bun, barrel-aged kraut, mustard pickles, REDD ketchup, potato stix.

Signal – Smokey BBQ shrimp, fire roasted parsnips, braised kale, beer blanc, BBQ popcorn crouton.

Spice of Life Wakatu – Molten gruyere, country ham, pickled broccoli and cauliflower, fingerling potatoes.

Autumnation – Pumpkin ravioli, flash fried, caramel apple, pepita brown butter.

 

BELGIAN BEER & KAAS FEATURE

WHEN: 6 to 10 p.m.

DETAILS: Belgian and Belgian-style beers with cheese pairings by the Cabot Creamery Cooperative.

Saxo Belgium Blond will be paired with Bacon Cheddar.

Karmeliet Triple will be paired with Horseradish Cheddar.

Lucifer Golden Ale will be paired with Buffalo Hot.

McChouffe Belgian Brown will be paired with Private Stock Reserved Cheddar.

St. Bernardus Abby Ale will be paired with Salt Caramel.

DETAILS: Have you been wanting to get together with other women in the Portland area who enjoy craft beer? Rising Tide will host a happy hour beer tasting and initial organizational meeting for a new group that will gather women together for tastings, beer dinners and brewery tours.
