“CAPTAIN PHILLIPS” (PG-13) (2:14) Stars Tom Hanks, Barkhad Abdi and Barkhad Abdirahman. Directed by Paul Greengrass. Based on the true story of Richard Phillips and the 2009 hijacking by Somali pirates of the MV Maersk Alabama, the first U.S. cargo ship to be hijacked in 200 years.

“MACHETE KILLS” (R) (1:47) Stars Danny Trejo, Alexa Vega, Mel Gibson and Jessica Alba. Directed by Robert Rodriguez. The U.S. government recruits Machete to battle his way through Mexico in order to take down an arms dealer who looks to launch a weapon into space.

“ROYAL OPERA HOUSE BALLET: DON QUIXOTE” (NR) (3:00) Stars Marianela Nuñez and Carlos Acosta. Inspired by the adventures of Cervantes’ bumbling knight, Don Quixote tells the light-hearted tale of the vivacious Kitri and her sweetheart, the poor young barber Basilio, as Kitri’s father attempts to marry her to the rich fop Gamache.

“SHORT TERM 12” (R) (1:36) Stars Brie Larson, Frantz Turner, John Gallagher Jr. and Kaitlyn Dever. Directed by Destin Cretton. An award-winning film at several film festivals. A young supervising staff member and her longtime boyfriend and co-worker deal with various situations at a dysfunctional foster care facility.

“BAGGAGE CLAIM” (PG-13) (1:36) Stars Paula Patton, Taye Diggs and Derek Luke. Directed by David E. Talbert. In order to avoid being the only unwed family member, Montana begins a 30-day, 30,000-mile expedition to charm a possible suitor into becoming her fiance.

“BLUE CAPRICE” (R) (1:33) Stars Isaiah Washington, Tequan Richmond and Tim Blake Nelson. Directed by Alexandre Moors. An abandoned boy is lured to America and drawn into the shadow of a dangerous father figure. Inspired by the real life events that led to the 2002 Beltway sniper attacks.

“BLUE JASMINE” (PG-13) (1:38) Stars Cate Blanchett, Alec Baldwin and Sally Hawkins. Directed by Woody Allen. A life crisis causes a vapid and narcissistic socialite to head to San Francisco, where she tries to reconnect with her sister.

“CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS 2” (PG) (1:35) Animated with the voices of Bill Hader, Anna Farris, Will Forte and Neil Patrick Harris. Directed by Dody Cameron and Kris Pearn. Flint Lockwood leaves his post at The Live Corp Company when he learns his most infamous machine is still working and turning out menacing food-animal hybrids.

“DON JON” (R) (1:30) Stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Scarlett Johansson and Tony Danza. Directed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. A man works to find intimacy and happiness with his potential true love after developing unrealistic expectations from watching porn.

“ELYSIUM” (R) (1:49), Stars Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley and Alice Braga. Directed by Neill Blomkamp. In 2154, the very wealthy live on a space station, and the rest of the population lives on a ruined Earth. One man leads a mission to bring equality to the polarized worlds.
