JAZZ GUITARIST and singer John Pizzarelli has impressed audiences of all stripes, whether he's playing with other jazz cats or with the Boston Pops orchestra, which he did recently. He's also got a reputation for joking around with his audiences.

ART AND THEATER: 'Hedwig' rocks Space Gallery

GLAM SLAM. Gene Dante and Lisa van Oosterum star in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," a musical by John Cameron Mitchell about a fictional rock band fronted by "internationally ignored song stylist" Hedwig Schmidt, a transgendered East German rock goddess.

LAMB MEATBALL SOUP stewed beef with sour golden plums and chestnuts ghee-scented rice It's all part of an Azerbaijani family meal, and you can learn to make it in this cooking class taught by Lindsay Sterling of the Immigrant Kitchens project. The cooking starts at 7, and dinner begins at 8:30. BYOB.
