THE EDM artist Bassnectar is big, but sometimes you want to see someone big in a place that's not as big. The show has been moved from the Cumberland County Civic Center to the more intimate State Theatre. All tickets sold for the civic center will be honored, and refunds are available at point of purchase.

Art and Theater: Painting for a Purpose benefit
THE PORTLAND-AREA arts organization Painting for a Purpose recently paired local artists with students to create colorful, whimsical wooden lobster boats and dories. Those creations will be auctioned, with proceeds funding service learning grants in Portland schools.

Art and Theater: Japanese prints go up at Bowdoin
AN EXHIBITION of ancient Japanese woodblock prints opens at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art this weekend. "Fantastic Stories: The Supernatural in Nineteenth-Century Japanese Prints" coincides with the 25th anniversary of Asian Studies at Bowdoin.
