The Beth Ellis Cove Gallery in Ogunquit will celebrate the life and art of its late founder and namesake Sunday afternoon.
Ellis, who died in 2011, operated the gallery in Perkins Cove for many years. Friends and family have kept it open since her death.

She was an accomplished plein air painter who spent her summers in Maine, living the rest of the year in Connecticut.
Sunday’s celebration begins at 4 p.m., and will feature acoustic music by the Connecticut-based quartet Cotton Hollow Rising. The ensemble plays a mix of music that focuses on Celtic and folk. Instrumentation includes violin, guitar, dobro, mandolin, bass, banjo, penny whistle and percussion.
Kim Hoffman, who plays violin, guitar and mandolin, wrote a song about Ellis called “Scientific Mystery.”
“When I wrote it, I tried to embrace the art and feeling of her work,” Hoffman said. “I just love her art, and I really love the gallery. It’s an act of love that it has continued since her passing.”
Cotton Hollow Rising will perform two sets, from 4 to 5 p.m. and from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
