Full Moon Hike

5 p.m. in Jefferson

The Full Moon Hike at Hidden Valley Nature Center will include an owl prowl, led by Sheepscot Valley Conservation Association naturalist Lynne Flaccus. Coyote tracking, winter tree and twig identification and winter camping skills are also on the schedule. There's a $5 suggested donation. Reservations are recommended. Fish Tales

5:30 p.m. in Freeport

The Coastal Conservation Association of Maine is holding its annual banquet and fundraiser at the Harraseeket Inn on Route 1. The event is free and open to the public. Complimentary appetizers will be served by the Harraseeket Inn's award-winning chefs, and there will be a cash bar, along with a raffle and auction. Go to www.cca-maine.org.


More On Snowshoes

5:45 p.m. in Standish

Join the Sebago Lake Ecology Center for a guided, full-moon snowshoe hike along the trails of the Sebago Lake Land Reserve. Come enjoy and experience the wilderness blanketed in snow and darkness. Bring snowshoes and wear warm clothing. Participants are encouraged to bring a flashlight or headlamp and water. All skill levels are welcomed on this 90-minute to 2-hour hike over relatively even trails. Meet at the Sebago Lake Ecology Center at the intersection of Routes 237 and 35 in Standish. No cost. Crystal Lake Derby

Tickets are on sale for the fourth-annual Liberty Family Foundation Crystal Lake Ice Fishing Derby, held off Route 26 in New Gloucester. Tickets are $10, or $5 for the kids' derby, and available at Gray True Value, L.L.Bean, Kittery Trading Post, Dag's Bait & Tackle and Pat's Pizza in Windham.
