“An Afternoon With Santa,” 3 to 5 p.m., horse-drawn carriage rides, craft and cookie-making activities, Santa and annual Christmas tree lighting at St. Joseph’s College, 278 Whites Bridge Road, Standish. Sheepscot Valley Chorus, 3:30 p.m., at Boothbay Harbor Congregational Church. Featured is the Christmas Oratorio of Camille Saint-Saëns, sung in English, and traditional carols. Catholic Women’s and Men’s Conferences WILL BE presented by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland at the DoubleTree Hotel, 363 Maine Mall Road, South Portland.

The Women’s Conference is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Dec. 7 and features author Sonja Corbitt and live performances by recording artist Sarah Kroger. To register, call 321-7898.

The Catholic Men’s Conference is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Dec. 14, with Patrick Coffin, host of the national radio show Catholic Answers Live. To register, call 321-7897.

The fee is $55 for either conference and both sessions will conclude with a Vigil Mass at 4 p.m.
