Saturday

Dedication Mass, 4 p.m., at the new St. Faustina Church in Jackman. Rescheduled from Sunday due to the impending storm. Parishioners have worshipped at the American Legion Hall for four years.

Celebrate the Birth of the Savior, 5 p.m., dinner followed by a Christmas program. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 15 Smith Lane, Saco.

Christmas Concert and Kids Only Shop, 6 p.m., the concert features the trio “Grace” and is held at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 496 Lisbon St., Route 196, Lisbon. Bring non-perishable food items or a donation to benefit Lisbon Area Christian Outreach Food Pantry. The Kids Only Shop, with free wrapping, starts at 5 p.m. with free or low-cost gifts that children can give. Free desserts, coffee and hot cocoa will be available during intermission. Acoustic evening, 7 to 8:30 p.m., fifth annual concert with Maine Christian artists. First E Free Church, 355 Bridgton Road, Westbrook. Tickets are free but are required. An offering will be taken. Go to http://firstfruitsministries.info/events.cfm for details.

Saturday and Sunday

“A Visit from Saint Nick,” 2 p.m. Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday, Christmas by the Bay presentation by the drama group, adult choir and children’s nativity at First Baptist Church, 360 Canco Road, Portland. Admission is free. Call 773-3123 for more information.

Sunday

“This I Know, Holy Wisdom,” 10:30 a.m., interfaith service at Portland New Church, 302 Stevens Ave., Portland. Visit chimeofmaine.org for details.

“Interfaith Service Against Gun Violence,” 3 to 4 p.m., local clergy will mark the anniversary of the Newtown shootings as well as past violent shootings. Held at First Universalist Church of Auburn, 169 Pleasant St., Auburn. Call 783-0461 or go to www.auburnuu.org for details.

Pageant of the Nativity, 5 p.m., 87th annual non-denominational pageant and vesper service creating a tableau based on the Renaissance frescos by Fra Angelico. First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, 425 Congress St., Portland.

Live Outdoor Nativity, 5:30 to 7 p.m. West Scarborough United Methodist Church, Route 1 and Orchard Street, Scarborough. Hot cocoa and a craft project for children will be available inside. Free.

Cookies and Carols Christmas Celebration, 6 p.m., with inspirational readings and musicians performing favorite carols. Cookies, hot cocoa and other hot drinks will be available. Hosanna Church, 109 Schoolhouse Road, Oxford.

Lucia Festival, 6 p.m., Salvation Army, 1 Church St., Old Orchard Beach.

Monday through Friday

“The Light is On for You,” Catholics are encouraged to participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, also known as Penance or Confession, at parishes around the state. Each parish in the diocese will offer confessions on at least three evenings during the week. A schedule is available at http://portlanddiocese.net/light-is-on-parishes.

Wednesday

Living Nativity, 7 to 8 p.m., featuring live animals, hymn singing and refreshments. All are welcome. Standish Congregational Church, 25 Oak Hill Road, Standish. Call 642-3386 to learn more.

Thursday

Labyrinth Walk, between 4 and 7:30 p.m., indoor Chartres-style labyrinth for meditative walks. Trinity Episcopal Church, 580 Forest Ave., Portland. All are welcome. Allow about 30 minutes to complete the labyrinth. Call 772-7421 for additional information.

Homeless Memorial Service, 4:30 p.m., Tedford Housing’s annual service led by the Rev. Bill Bliss and the Rev. John Carson with music by Giff Jamison. Light refreshments will be offered. Held at Mid-Coast Hunger Prevention , 84A Union St., Brunswick. Weather permitting, a procession will walk to the gazebo on the Brunswick green, where there will be a reading of names of homeless individuals who died in the past year.

A Longest Night Candlelight Service, 7 p.m., for those dealing with loss or stress at the holidays with readings, prayers and carols. Raymond Village Community Church, 27 Main St., Raymond. Contact Nancy Foran at 650-7845 for details..

Dec. 21

Live Nativity, noon to 2 p.m., with live sheep, goats and alpacas, carols and hot chocolate and cookies. Free and everyone is welcome. Deering Center Community Church, 4 Brentwood St., Portland

Live Nativity, 5 to 7 p.m., and also Dec. 22, Park Avenue Church of God, 28 Park Ave., Portland. Hot chocolate and cookies will be available. Contact Pastor Frank Siciliano at 807-5443 to learn more.

Holy Grounds Coffee House, doors open at 6:15 p.m., featuring Lisa Gallant Seal. Held at Church of the Holy Spirit, 1047 Congress St., Portland. Admission is free and dinner, dessert and coffee are available for purchase. Call 874-9779 for more information.

Other

Good Shepherd Parish in Saco is supporting the 2013 Northern York County Toys for Tots Campaign with a collection of new, unwrapped toys which may be donated at collection boxes in all parish churches through Sunday. Monetary donations may also be made to “Toys for Tots, Saco, Maine” and mailed to Toys for Tots, c/o Prudential Prime Properties, 445 Main St., Saco, ME 04072.
