    After spending eight hours in the air that day (17 hours in two days in flights from Kuwait to Spain, then Spain to Brunswick), Harrier jet pilots lounged on the concrete runway next to their jets and ate a lunch of lobster rolls. The pilots were members of the Marine Attack Squadron 542 of the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing and this contingent was based in Cherry Point, North Carolina. Before nightfall that day, 35 Harrier jump jets were expected to be parked on the runway at Brunswick Naval Air Station.
