KENNEBUNK — Forty-one new U.S. citizens will be sworn in in a southern Maine ceremony.

The Americans-to-be will take their oaths at the Middle School of the Kennebunks today. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services says the special naturalization ceremony celebrates Earth Day.

The citizenship candidates live in several Maine communities, including Auburn, Berwick, Falmouth, Lewiston, Monmouth, Norway, Old Town, Portland, Saco, South Berwick, South Portland, and Westbrook.

Speakers and guests will include U.S. Sen. Susan Collins of Maine and immigration services District Director Denis Riordan.
