BLUE HILL — The small coastal Maine town of Blue Hill is in mourning after two town officials died unexpectedly over the weekend.
Selectman Jim Schatz says fellow board member Duane Gray as well as deputy town clerk Janet Torrey both passed away.
He tells the Bangor Daily News that the 51-year-old Torrey died Saturday night and the 66-year-old Gray died Sunday morning. The cause of their deaths remains unclear.
Schatz said neither had missed work or been ill recently.
Both leave behind large extended families.
He says the entire town of about 2,500 people is in mourning.
