Pregnant Auburn woman killed in head-on collision

Police said a pregnant woman was killed Sunday after her car collided head-on with another motorist on Route 196.

Sgt. Robert Ramsay of the Topsham Police Department identified the victim as 37-year-old Salima Nuh of Auburn. Ramsay said Nuh was pregnant.

Ramsay said that Nuh’s vehicle was struck head-on by a vehicle operated by Robert Robitaille, 52, of Lisbon. He suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from Parkview Hospital in Brunswick.

Police said it appears that Robitaille was traveling west toward Lisbon when he fell asleep and drifted into the opposite lane. The accident remains under investigation.
