WATERVILLE – Three people were arrested by Waterville police on drug trafficking charges, including a man believed to be part of a New York City-based drug trafficking group.

Police and agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency said they have been investigating the sale of crack cocaine and oxycodone in the Union Street area of Waterville for three months.

On Friday, police arrested 26-year-old Dorian White, formerly of New York City, on fugitive from justice and drug trafficking charges. Police said they found 30 oxycodone pills and more than $14,000 in cash on him. Also arrested on an outstanding warrant was 20-year-old Ashley Loisel of Winslow. A third person, 23-year-old Lamar Mitchell of Bangor, was arrested on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and unlawful possession of oxycodone after police searched a vehicle and an apartment.

White was being held at the Kennebec County Jail without bail; Loisel was being held on $10,750 bail. Mitchell was released on $1,500 unsecured bond.

It was not immediately known if they were being represented by lawyers.

Police said White is a member of the Bloods street gang and believe he is part of a New York City-based drug trafficking organization that sends dealers to other urban and suburban areas to sell drugs.
