VASSALBORO — The Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro is holding graduation ceremonies for another group of officers who’ll soon be on the beat.
Officials say 50 new police officers have completed 18 weeks of study and training. The group includes 12 state troopers, seven officers from Portland and four from Auburn.
Stephen McCausland of the Maine Department of Public Safety says many of the new officers will begin working immediately in time to bolster patrols for Christmas and New Year’s.
