AARP: Portland No. 1 city to visit

PORTLAND — The American Association of Retired Persons has named Portland the No. 1 destination in the United States in 2012, ahead of New York City, Hawaii and Florida.

The AARP cites Portland's unparalleled restaurants, historic waterfont and quaint New England surroundings as reasons to visit.
