Albany breaks off talks with Pirates

The manager of the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y., said he has ended negotiations with the Portland Pirates.
"We have broken off talks with (Pirates managing owner and CEO) Brian Petrovek this afternoon as it pertains to moving his team to Albany," Times Union Center general manager Bob Belber told the Portland Press Herald. "We are going in another direction."
The Pirates, who are in lease negotiations with the Cumberland County Civic Center, had been weighing an offer to move the team to Albany.
The team's lease with the county is set to expire on April 30.

Aw gee. The poor Pirates will be forced to subsist on the meager money they take from the people in Portland. Maybe we could take up a collection.

Well, we may be a "backward state," in your opinion, but I'm THRILLED that the PORTLAND Pirates are staying right where they belong, namely in Portland, MAINE! By the way, maybe YOU should move to Albany! GO PORTLAND!!

Don't believe it !! Its not over yet !! Albany is just waiting for the real war to start when the end or the lease gets closer , then they will swoop in and break your hearts again ! Its not over until the Civic Center gets another SIGNED lease !! These money grubbing buisness people only care about profit nothing more . I'll believe it when the lease is signed not until then .
