Biddeford police searching Saco River for missing swimmer

BIDDEFORD — Biddeford police and fire personnel were still searching the Saco River late Thursday night for a missing swimmer.

A dispatcher for the Biddeford Police Department said the swimmer most likely drowned.

Biddeford and Saco put several boats into the river near Main Street and Horrigan’s Court.

Authorities were notified around 8:45 p.m. that a person who had been swimming in the river had not resurfaced.

No other details were immediately available.
