A hospital spokeswoman said Monday shooting victim Owen Benway was in critical condition.
Authorities say the children's father, 41-year-old Daryl Benway, separated from his wife just weeks before opening fire Saturday at the family's home in Oxford, 60 miles south of Boston.
Oxford schools Superintendent Allen Himmelberger says a vigil is set for Monday night in the town center.
Schools officials are offering grief counseling. The late Abigail Benway was to start second grade soon at Chaffee Elementary School.
Friends and neighbors tell The Boston Globe that Daryl Benway recently lost his job and feared foreclosure.
