Child, woman injured in Boston crash

The Associated Press

BOSTON — State police said a 4-year-old girl has suffered life-threatening injuries and a woman was seriously injured in a two-car crash in the Tip O'Neill Tunnel in Boston.

Police said early Sunday morning, the vehicle carrying the child swerved left after another vehicle tried to move into that lane from the middle right lane.

The child was partially ejected and taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The woman who suffered serious injuries was also ejected and taken to the hospital.

Police said that if the investigation confirms that the child was not in a car seat as required by law, the driver will be charged.
