ALFRED — A York County grand jury this week indicted four county jail correctional officers who were the subject of an investigation prompted by an inmate’s complaint.
Roger Souliere, 30, of Waterboro, and John Sibya, 25, of Alfred, were each indicted on charges of assault, criminal threatening and reckless conduct.
Daniel Roy, 26, of Lyman and Michael Pitts, 27, of Biddeford, were each indicted on charges of assault and criminal threatening.
The charges are for Class D crimes, which are misdemeanor level.
All four correctional officers have been placed on paid administrative leave. The York County Sheriff’s Office will conduct an administrative investigation to determine whether the officers violated any policies.
