Couple dies in Maine crash involving 2 pickups

State police say it appeared the driver of one of the trucks ran a stop sign before the crash.

STETSON — A couple from Exeter has died following a collision between two pickup trucks in Stetson.

Maine State Police say the accident occurred late Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Route 143 and Mount Pleasant Road.

One of the trucks, driven by Jacqueline Thompson, 43, of Exeter, failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a truck driven by Jacob Chambers, 29, of Dover-Foxcroft.

Jacqueline Thompson and  her husband Arnold Thompson, 51, were killed instantly.

Chambers was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
