Crash shuts down River Road in Windham for two hours

WINDHAM – River Road in Windham had to be shut down for nearly two hours Tuesday while police investigated a crash involving a motorcycle and a car.

A dispatcher for the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said the crash took place near the Westbrook town line. It was reported at 3:38 p.m., and troad was closed between the Westbrook town line and Anderson Road.

The road reopened at 5:45 p.m.

No other details were immediately available, including the number of people involved or whether any sustained injuries.
