Details of president's visit to Portland announced

Tickets to the Thursday event will be available Wednesday on a first-come, first-served basis.

PORTLAND — President Obama will speak Thursday afternoon in Portland on how health care reform legislation passed by Congress will affect Mainers.

The White House announced Monday night that the president is scheduled to make a public appearance at the Portland Expo, 239 Park Ave.

Doors to the event will open at 1:30 p.m., according to an announcement by the White House. To get in, you must have a ticket.

Tickets will be distributed to the public on a first come, first served basis starting at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the lobby of the Portland Expo.
