Falcons blow past Pirates, 4-2

Springfield clinches its first division title in 16 years.

PORTLAND — Jonathan Audy-Marchessault scored a goal and had two assists as the Springfield Falcons clinched their first division title in 16 years with a convincing 4-2 win against the Portland Pirates in an AHL game Sunday afternoon at the Cumberland County Civic Center.

Blake Parlett, Sean Collins and Jake Hansen also scored as the Falcons (40-20-5-4) claimed the Northeast Division title.

Andy Miele, who now has 18 goals, scored power-play goals during second and third periods for the Pirates.
