PORTLAND — Former Maine Gov. Ken Curtis is speaking at the University of Southern Maine in an ongoing speaker series featuring past and present politicians.
Curtis was elected governor in 1966 and re-elected in 1970. He later served as president of Maine Maritime Academy.
He will speak at USM on Thursday as part of the university’s eight-week series called “Politics Then and Now, in Maine and the Nation.”
Former U.S. Rep. Tom Allen and former U.S. Sen. George Mitchell have spoken the past two weeks.
Upcoming speakers include former U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowe, former Maine Gov. John McKernan Jr., former U.S. Rep. Barney Frank and former Maine Senate President Elizabeth Mitchell.
