MONTPELIER, Vt. — A frost advisory has been issued for a section of northern New Hampshire, Vermont and western Maine.
Gardeners are advised to cover sensitive plants or to bring them indoors.
The advisory is for Coos County, N.H., Essex County, Vt. and parts of Oxford, Franklin and Somerset counties in Maine on Monday night.
Temperatures are expected to dip into the low-to-mid 30s in those areas.
Temperatures in Portland and southern Maine should bottom out in the high 40s.
The National Weather Service says this likely to be the first frost of the season for the mountains of Maine and northern New Hampshire.
