WINDHAM – A fugitive was stopped with a Taser on Thursday after he fled from a home on Tandberg Trail.
Cumberland County Sheriff Kevin Joyce said Zachary Farris, 25, ran when officers from the county and Windham police arrived around 2:30 p.m.
Farris was checked out by medical personnel before being taken to the Cumberland County Jail, where he was held without bail on a probation-revocation warrant charging him with burglary and theft.
Joyce said Farris had been on the run since April, when he was featured on a television episode of the “Fugitive Files” – a WGME-TV program.
Local police worked with the U.S. Marshals Service, which tracked Farris to Florida. Two weeks ago, local police got a tip that he had returned to Maine.
