AUGUSTA — Maine legislative leaders say lawmakers submitted 1,780 bills to be considered during this year's legislative session before the deadline for submissions fell.
Now, Mainers can get a better idea of what all those bills are about. A full list of bill titles listed by subject matter is to be released Monday.
The 1,780 preliminary number of bills submitted is slightly lower than the prior Legislature, and leaders say it's likely to be reduced further once duplicates are identified.
During the last session, 1,899 bills were submitted by lawmakers before the deadline, or cloture.
