Gorham voters elected three candidates, including the sole incumbent, in Tuesday’s five-way race for seats on the Town Council.

And in a three-way race for two seats on the Gorham School Committee, a couple of newcomers knocked the board’s chairwoman out of office.

Bruce Roullard, with 1,485 votes; Matthew Robinson, with 1,280 votes; and Benjamin Hartwell, with 1,251 votes won seats on the council.

They defeated James Means, who received 1,221 votes, and Forrest Genthner, who collected 963 votes.

Robinson, who has served 12 years on the council, was the only incumbent running.

The other candidates have never served on the council.

Roullard is a mortgage lender and active alumnus of the University of Southern Maine, and Hartwell is a local farmer.

In the Gorham School Committee race, Kyle Bailey and John Hamilton Doyle – two candidates who have never held office before – defeated Kyle Currier, the board’s chairwoman, who was seeking her third term.

Bailey, a nonprofit finance and budget professional, received 1,371 votes, followed by Doyle, an attorney and father of five young children, who got 1,218.

Currier received 1,117 votes.
