Nicole Dumond, 33, of Greenbush pleaded guilty Friday in U.S. District Court in Bangor to stealing postal funds.

The plea was announced by U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II.

Dumond was acting as a temporary postmaster in Greenbush when she stole more than $1,000 from customers in money orders and postage stamps between November 2012 and January 2013, according to court records.

Dumond faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine or both. She will be sentenced after a report by the U.S. Probation Office.

The investigation into the theft was conducted by the Office of Inspector General of the United States Postal Service.
