A 73-year-old Otisfield woman was killed in a car crash after she pulled into the path of an oncoming van in Harrison this afternoon.

Eleanor Flagg was pulling onto Norway Road from the westbound lane of Temple Hill Road when her Ford Focus was hit by a northbound Ford van, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

The impact of the crash sent both vehicles over an embankment. The driver of the van, John Ainslie, 44, of Augusta was not injured.

No charges have been brought in the crash, which the sheriff's office is investigating. Driver inattention may have played a role in the crash, the sheriff's office said.
