Hollis woman charged with stealing from neighbors

From Staff Reports

A Hollis woman was arrested and charged with burglarizing her neighbors’ homes, stealing a total of $5,000 worth of jewelry.

Maine State Police arrested Christina Larrivee, 35, Sunday night and charged her with four counts of burglary. Police say four residents of Landry Drive in Hollis discovered jewelry, mainly gold rings and bracelets, missing from their homes starting in early September. Some of the stolen jewelry was later found at a pawn shop in Standish. Police say Larrivee had pawned the items.

Trooper Jeremy Forbes said Larrivee, who lives at 88 Landry Drive, walked around the neighborhood and entered her neighbors’ houses when she knew they wouldn’t be home. Some of the houses were unlocked.

Forbes said Larrivee, who works as a nanny, has an opiate addiction.

She was arrested at her house about 8:30 p.m. Sunday. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the investigation.

State police initially suspected others, because there have been several burglaries in the same area. Three other people are already in custody for burglaries, which are unrelated to Larrivee’s alleged crimes. One person remains at large in those burglaries.

The incidents are not related, although police said drug use appears to be a common factor in all of the burglaries.

Larrivee is being held at the York County Jail in Alfred on $20,000 bail and is expected to appear before a judge Monday in Springvale District Court.
