HOULTON — Maine is paying its final respects to a Special Forces soldier from Houlton killed in Afghanistan.
A funeral service is scheduled Wednesday for Sgt. 1st Class Aaron Henderson of Houlton.

Hundreds of people lined the route as a hearse carried the body of Sgt. 1st Class Aaron Henderson to Aroostook County on Monday.
Military Street Baptist Church announced that the funeral is scheduled for Wednesday inside the gymnasium at Houlton High School.
The Bangor Daily News reports that visiting hours begin at noon with the funeral scheduled for 2 p.m.
Henderson was wounded by an improvised explosive device Sept. 30 and died last Monday at the hospital at Bagram Air Field in Afghanistan.
He served in the 2nd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group out of Fort Campbell, Ky.
Henderson graduated in 1997 from Hodgdon High School, where he played soccer, basketball and baseball.
