RAYMOND – An infant was ejected from a belted child safety seat and hurled about 25 feet through the air before landing in soft snow after his mother’s Toyota Corolla was hit by a large pickup truck Thursday night.
Capt. Don Goulet of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office described the injuries to 19-year-old Chynna Blaney of Raymond and her 6-month-old child as “serious” but non-life-threatening. The boy’s name was unavailable. They were transported by ambulance to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Police said Blaney’s car collided with a Ford F-150 truck operated by 35-year-old Angie Horler of New Gloucester.
Horler’s two young children — ages 2 and 5 — were not injured but Horler was taken to Mercy Hospital after complaining of pain.
The vehicles collided at North Raymond and Ledgehill roads in Raymond about 4:50 p.m. Goulet said Blaney was unfamiliar with the area and failed to stop at a posted sign.
