KENNEBUNK — Maine Drug Enforcement Agency agents and Kennebunk police arrested a convicted felon after raiding his motel room Monday afternoon.

Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said 23-year-old Shaun Barry of Kennebunk was arrested at the Turnpike Motel, 77 Old Alewive Road.

Police seized about 60 grams of crack cocaine, scales, packaging materials, $900 in cash and two semi-automatic pistols from his room. They also recovered some stolen property.

Barry was taken to the York County Jail where he was charged with aggravated trafficking in crack cocaine and prohibited possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Barry had been free on probation from Massachusetts where he had prior convictions for drug- and firearm-related crimes. He is being held at the county jail on $50,000 cash bail.
