LePage to attend regional energy meeting

The Associated Press

AUGUSTA — Gov. Paul LePage is headed to Quebec to discuss energy policy with New England and eastern Canadian leaders.

The Republican governor is attending the 37th New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers Conference on Sunday and Monday in La Malbaie.

The conference brings together the governors of the six New England states and the premiers of Canada's five eastern provinces.

The governor's office says this year's conference will focus on the region's energy future.

Director of the Energy Patrick Woodcock, Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Patricia Aho and Senior Economic Policy Adviser John Butera are also expected to attend.
