CUMBERLAND — A LifeFlight helicopter had to make a forced landing Tuesday night after it lost power to its engines.
A Falmouth Police Department dispatcher said authorities started receiving reports of a helicopter in trouble around 5:30 p.m.
The pilot successfully set the helicopter down in a field between Winn and Cross roads in Cumberland – just over the Falmouth town line.
There were no patients on board during the landing and all three people in the helicopter escaped without injury.
The helicopter was en route to a Lewiston hospital at the time.
