BOOTHBAY — The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a home invasion and robbery that took place Sunday night at a home on Barters Island in Boothbay.

Lt. Rand Maker said three suspects entered the home around 8 p.m., stole an undisclosed amount of cash and jewelry, and during the robbery assaulted one of the homeowners.

Maker said the suspects, who did not display any weapons, took steps to conceal their identity but he would not provide additional details.

Maker said one of the homeowners suffered facial injuries. That person did not require medical treatment.

The Maine State Police sent a K-9 unit to the home. The police canine recovered evidence and tracked the suspects.

Police spent several hours processing the home for DNA and fingerprint evidence.
