EAST BOOTHBAY — The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a string of home burglaries that have been reported in the Ocean Point neighborhood of East Boothbay as well as Westport Island.
Lt. Michael J. Murphy said nine seasonal homes in East Boothbay were broken into between Thursday and Saturday of last week, with more than $1,000 in property reported stolen.
In one incident on High Street, a homeowner said he confronted a male suspect, who fled the home.
Two summer homes were broken into Saturday night on Westport Island. A number of items, from tools to household goods, were stolen. Their value is estimated at between $5,000 and $10,000.
Murphy said anyone with information about the burglaries should contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 207-882-7332.
