AUGUSTA — Maine state park officials are reminding residents who are veterans that they are eligible for a free, lifetime day-use pass to Maine state parks and historic sites.
The offer applies to veterans who were honorably discharged or received a general discharge under honorable conditions.
Commissioner Walter Whitcomb of the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry is issuing the reminder as Veterans Day arrives.
The free pass for veterans is for individual day use for park entrance and must be presented each time with appropriate identification.
