AUGUSTA — A survey in Maine says heating oil has gone up another 2 cents per gallon over the past week, now reaching $3.89 per gallon.

The Governor’s Energy Office said Tuesday that its weekly heating fuel survey showed that the current cost of heating oil is 36 cents per gallon higher than it was a year ago.

Official say heating oil inventories are lower this winter compared to last year. But increased production and warming temperatures could boost supplies in coming months.

The survey found a range from $3.70 to $4.19 for heating oil in Maine. It also found that kerosene was up 2 cents to $4.29 per gallon, while propane increased 12 cents to $3.47 per gallon.
