In top photo, Bruce Hyman, left, Bicycle and Pedestrian Program coordinator for Portland, and Nancy Grant, executive director of the Bicycle Coalition of Maine, explain the Bayside Trail System to U.S. Rep. Earl Blumenauer from Portland, Ore., and U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree, with whom he co-sponsored working waterfront legislation, during a tour Monday of the Bayside Trail System near the Portland Water Treatment Plant at the end of Marginal Way. Below, Blumenauer and Pingree listen as Bert Jongerden, general manager of the Portland Fish Exchange, explains the operation. They also toured the waterfront and visited Woodfords Corner.
