Rescue workers have responded to a crash on Interstate 295 in Falmouth and the travel lane has been shut down.
Police reported multiple cars involved in a crash in the northbound lanes of the interstate at mile marker nine at about 1 p.m. Falmouth rescue dispatched an ambulance to the scene.
State Police are investigating the crash. The travel lane was shut down slowing traffic headed north of Portland.
There was no immediate word on the severity of the injuries.
