Police returned Friday to Northport as part of the ongoing investigation into 24-year-old Elena Lozada’s death.

The remains of the Portland resident were found in April in the woods off Route 52.

Lt. Gary Rogers of the Portland Police Department said Maine State Police were searching the area for any more evidence they may have missed when Lozada’s remains were found. Rogers said Portland police continue to work with state officials on this case.

Lozada disappeared in July 2010. It wasn’t until February when 36-year-old Saco resident Nathaniel Pete Mincher came forward with information regarding her disappearance and death.

No charges have been made in this case.
