Police release name of man killed by cement truck

BERWICK – Police have released the name of  the man killed Friday at the Seacoast Redi Mix plant.

Employee Thomas A. Palermo, 55, of Merrimack, N.H., died after he was struck by a truck in the driveway of the plant on Portland Street. Other plant employees witnessed the accident, according to police Capt. Jerry Locke.

The truck was driven by 32-year-old James C. Davis of Newmarket, N.H.

Locke said police were called to the plant shortly after 10 a.m. Friday. Police and rescue crews were unable to revive Palermo, he said.

Police have not released any other details about the incident.

A joint investigation with Berwick police and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration is ongoing.
