Sam’s Club in Scarborough reopened Wednesday afternoon after police investigated a reported bomb threat there, searched the store and found nothing.

Scarborough police Sgt. Steve Thibodeau said police were first notified of the threat at the 440 Payne Road box store at 1:15 p.m.

Officers remained at the scene past 2 p.m., but allowed the store to reopen after the threat was determined to be a hoax
