SOUTH PORTLAND — South Portland police are searching for a pair of robbers, one dressed in black, the other in white.

Police say two employees of Amato’s Restaurant at the corner of Evans Street and Broadway were leaving the store after closing it shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday when they were accosted by two men in the parking lot.

One of the men showed a gun and demanded money.

The robbers fled with a small amount of cash, police said.

Police said one suspect is about 6 feet tall, thin, and wore a black hooded sweatshirt and black bandanna with patches of white on it. The other suspect is about 5 feet 10 inches tall, medium build, and wore a white jacket, white bandana and jeans.

Police ask that anyone who saw people matching that description or anything else suspicious in the neighborhood around 11:15 p.m. Sunday night to call the South Portland police at 799-5511.
